English oak in a decorative banjo style with carved top and base.
Retailed by CSSA Ltd (Civil Service Supply Association), London c1910.
Aneroid (compensated) barometer can be adjusted to compensate for the pressure at sea level.
Original glass with clear optics on both barometer & thermometer.
In very good, working condition. Some slight wear to brass chapter ring.

The Civil Service Supply Association was a department store on the Strand, London. Founded in the 1860s on Victoria Street, the shop moved to the Strand in the following decade, remaining open until 1982.
